Su Lao (Xu Zixian), president of the Macao Chinese Purple Clay Art and Culture Research Association, director of the Purple Clay Museum of the Greater Bay Area Purple Clay Art Exchange Center, founder of the Zhuhai Ziyizhai Purple Clay Museum, and an expert of the Expert Committee on Arts and Crafts and Purple Clay Culture Research. Since childhood, Su Lao has been nourished by literature, art, philosophy and traditional culture. After coming to Zhuhai in the early 1990s, he began to collect and study purple clay teapots. The Ziyi Zhai Zisha Museum has attracted friends from over twenty provinces and cities across the country, as well as from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao and foreign countries to visit and exchange. Its fourth international cultural and museum exhibition, which systematically introduces the history and culture of purple clay through physical objects, is a first.

For decades, Su Lao has been dedicated to the collection of purple clay teapots from the Ming, Qing, and Republic of China periods to the "Seven Masters of Purple Clay". His exquisite teapots are simply breathtaking. Among them, the monk's teapot of Jinsha Temple, the Eight Scenes of Spring Offering and the Thirty-Eight Styles of Man Sheng are extremely rare in the world. They are the treasures of the three masters of purple clay, and their masterpieces are truly astonishing.

In the field of cultural studies, the common people read extensively and repeatedly sought verification in their exploration. A systematic sorting and arrangement of the historical positioning of famous purple clay teapots from the Ming, Qing and Republic of China periods based on their cultural values has been made. While the vulgar man was providing cultural interpretations of the history of purple clay, he put forward new insights and suggestions based on his own collection of thoughts and gains, and wrote many articles on the research results of purple clay.

The display of purple clay at Ziyi Studio is unique. For instance, by classifying them according to historical periods, family lineages, master-apprentice relationships, and combinations of ancestral hall names, etc., one can have a comprehensive understanding of the entire history of purple clay at a glance. Su Lao attaches great importance to folk collection and cultural research and has achieved significant results. In recent years, as the director of the Macao Museum of Chinese Purple Clay History and Culture and the president of the Research Association, Su Lao's collection of purple clay has been frequently featured and publicized by Xinhua News Agency and CCTV central media, earning him the title of a contemporary Chinese collector. In the event "Prosperous China, Revival with You", a commemorative and collectible stamp album, which is known as the "National business card", was issued. Ziyizhai Cultural Center was selected as a supplier to the central government. Su Lao himself has also been hired as an expert by the Expert Committee on Arts and Crafts and Purple Clay Culture Research of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. The Industrial Culture Development Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will establish a purple clay exchange center in the Greater Bay Area based on the purple clay collection of Ziyi Studio and will promptly commence its work. My personal dream is to establish a unique museum that can comprehensively reflect the history and culture of purple clay.
